A Community-Forward Experience

Open Play at West Hollywood Park is built on fairness, friendliness, and sportsmanship. We welcome players of all levels and encourage you to bring your best energy—on and off the court.

Check-In Policy

• All players must check in and receive a colored sticker before entering the courts, within the first 15 minutes of the Open Play session.

• Players without a sticker may not participate.

• If you haven’t checked in within 15 minutes of the session start time, your spot may be given away to a waitlisted player.

• Please arrive early to maximize your playing time.

Attendance & Oversight

• A Tennacity staff member will be present at every Open Play session.

• Staff will take attendance, manage waitlisted players, and provide oversight to keep play moving smoothly.

Late Cancellations & No-Shows

• You must cancel at least 12 hours in advance through PlayByPoint to receive a refund.

• If you late cancel (within 12 hours) or no-show 3 times within a 30-day period:

• 1st & 2nd Offense: Warning by email, push notification, or text.

• 3rd Offense: Removal from all current and future Open Play registrations and a 30-day suspension from booking.

• Each offense drops off after 30 days.

Open Play Courts & Format

West Hollywood Park (6 multipurpose courts: 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B)

• Tuesday & Thursday Sessions – Max: 30 players

• Courts limited to 30 players total

• All courts are standard community open play

• Paddle system: place paddles at the base of each net’s side bar (never during a point)

• First 4 paddles placed = next game on that court

• All 4 players rotate off at the end of the game; next 4 paddles come on

• Games to 11, win by 2

• Weekend Sessions – Max: 45 players

• All 6 courts in rotation

• Same paddle system and rotation as above

• Games to 11, win by 2

Challenge Court (When Designated)

• Paddles go in the rack system at the fence.

• Next 2 challengers play the winning team (winners stay on).

• Games to 11, win by 2.

• Winning team may stay for a maximum of 3 rotations, then all 4 rotate off.

Waitlist

• Players on the waitlist are not charged initially.

• You will be notified if a spot opens via PlayByPoint.

• A notification does not mean you are automatically in. Respond quickly and pay the entry fee online (or by app/in person) to confirm your spot.

Rain Policy

• In the event of a rainout, players will be automatically refunded.

Updated Pricing (Effective October 1, 2025)

• West Hollywood Residents: $5

• West Hollywood Senior Residents (55+): $3.50

• Non-Residents: $7

• Proof of residency is required (please bring to the office so it can be noted in the system).

Important Reminders

• Do not move other players’ paddles.

• Want to play with friends? Please book a private court outside of Open Play hours.

• Respect the paddle and rotation system – it keeps play fair for everyone.

• Players are expected to respect all participants and enjoy the game.

• A minimum of 6 signups are required for a session.

• Players may book up to 7 days in advance.

• Tennacity, in collaboration with the City of West Hollywood, reserves the right to update Open Play rules and policies at any time.

• Courts may be reassigned to the general public on days when Open Play does not reach capacity.
